Grace is Eleven!

We were very excited for Graces birthday.  She has grown up so much since we have moved here.  She has done some amazing things this last year.  Started a whole new life in a new country, for starters.  Learning and be able to use Portuguese.  I turn to her for help all the time.  She no longer fears math, and got super good scores this year in school.  She has been able to overcome shyness and made some really good friends and school and church.  She is progressing so well in piano.  She is so close to being as tall as me it is scary!  

We had her friends over for a birthday party.  A couple from school could come, and a lot of church friends, and our dear friend Audrey (who just turned 17 and is like Grace's older sister) We made homemade pizza which turned out great, even if I couldn't find any pepperoni to put on (they have frozen pizzas with pepperoni, but I couldn't find any to add to our own pizzas). 

 

Then we decorated cupcakes.  

Then we played Just Dance over and over and over again.  

Not technically during the party, but really makes me smile to see Miles do his moves. 

We had a fun photo booth for silly pictures.  

And we had a cake . . . 
 

An amazing cake.  One of the most impressive cakes I have ever seen.  Audrey made Grace this cake. 

A Minecraft cake.  Grace and Audrey love to play mine craft.  Audrey is Grace's mentor when it comes to Minecraft, and Grace then shares her knowledge with her younger siblings.  This cake was amazing, it took six batches of cake and who knows how much fondant to cover, plus it had layers of Brigadeiro amidst the layers.  Amazing.  

This is how I wrap presents, inside a Minecraft Sheep Pinata.  Grace wasn't too thrilled to have to get her present out of the back of a sheep (even if it was made of cereal boxes).
